NEWCASTLE have been dealt another major blow with Callum Wilson offered his dream move to AC Milan, according to reports.

And it comes just hours after the Toon reportedly agreed to sell Miguel Almiron.

According to the Daily Mail, AC Milan are ready to submit a bid to sign Wilson on a permanent deal.

The England striker had previously been the subject of a loan approach from Atletico Madrid which was rejected by the Magpies.

But now Eddie Howe faces another battle to keep hold of a big-name star in the January transfer window.

Wilson, 31, has 18 months left on his current St James' Park contract.

And the report adds he would be open to the San Siro switch, where he would link up with fellow Three Lions internationals Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Fikayo Tomori.

However, the former Bournemouth man would be up against Olivier Giroud, Luka Jovic and Noah Okafor to lead the line for the Rossoneri under Stefano Pioli.

Wilson has scored eight goals in 20 games this season - failing to find the net in the Champions League - while his rival in the No9 position Alexander Isak is on 14 in 23.

Newcastle, though, are adamant they will not lose such a key player this month.

However, Toon CEO Darren Eales admitted last week every player has a price as the club try to comply with Premier League profit and sustainability rules.

Eales said: "It's difficult to hypothesise but, if we're offered £1billion for one of those players, then no one could argue against that making sense.

"At times it is necessary to trade your players.

"Whether that is because of the contract length of the player in question, the offer is too good to refuse, you need to reload in certain areas.

"But all of this could make sense to trade that player.

"It is counter-intuitive and part of the inherent system of PSR that there is an incentive to trade your players if you want to re-invest, by the nature of the boundaries."

Should Wilson leave, he would likely be followed out of the exit door by Almiron and Kieran Trippier.

Almiron is set to sign for Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Shabab.

Meanwhile, full-back Trippier emerged as a shock transfer target for Bayern Munich over the weekend.

The England defender would be reunited with ex-Tottenham team-mates Harry Kane and Eric Dier in Germany.

Bayern are understood to have tabled both loan and transfer offers for Trippier over the weekend - but both were rejected.

Newcastle sold Javier Manquillo on a free to Celta Vigo on Sunday.

The Spanish full-back spent six-and-a-half years in the north-east before being reunited with Rafa Benitez in LaLiga.
