Jordan Henderson back to Liverpool? Jurgen Klopp admits he's spoken to England midfielder amid dismal form for Al-Ettifaq as Premier League transfer rumours ramp up

Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp has admitted that he has spoken to Jordan Henderson amid reports the midfielder wants to leave Al-Ettifaq.
WHAT HAPPENED?
The England international is reported to be eager for a January transfer just six months after he moved to Saudi Arabia from Liverpool. A Premier League return may be on the cards and Klopp was asked about the prospect of him re-joining the Reds.
WHAT KLOPP SAID
Asked if Henderson could be back at Anfield before long, Klopp told reporters: "Did Hendo have a press conference and say that? No. That means for me it's not a thing... we spoke actually, but not about that."
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Henderson's start to life in the Middle East has not gone according to plan. The 33-year-old signed a lucrative deal with the club after spending 12 years at Liverpool to reunite with Reds legend Steven Gerrard. Al-Ettifaq have won just six of their 19 Saudi Pro League matches this season, however, and have failed to get three points from any of their last eight. Unhappy with the situation, the club captain is said to be willing to listen to any offers, even though leaving so soon could cost him a personal fortune as it is reported he will lose his tax-free status.
WHAT NEXT FOR HENDERSON?
Henderson will hope to receive some offers over the course of the January transfer window, but will likely be involved when Al-Ettifaq face Al-Khaleej, who sit three points behind them in the Saudi Pro League, next Sunday.
