Jese Rodriguez endured a less than productive one year loan spell at Stoke City
When he first appeared on the scene, Jese Rodriguez was billed as Real Madrid's long-term replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo.
If his football ability was anything close to his capacity for grabbing negative headlines and drama, he would have surpassed anything the five-time Ballon d'Or winner achieved. At the age of 30, Jese is now a free agent having played for and left four clubs since the summer of 2022.

Rodriguez was accused of sleeping with Amar
In 2020, Jese was accused of cheating on Ruiz with her good friend Rocio Amar. As unsavoury as the scandal was, things were made even worse when Amar took to social media to upload audio clips of the Spaniard allegedly saying Ruiz was "crazy" and "boring".
It was the most ugly and public event to happen during their relationship. Amar also insinuated she and Jese had some "sexual encounters" in a Madrid nightclub. He denied the affair... which leads us nicely onto his next bonkers moment.
Bizarre Big Brother phone call
Rodriguez was accused of cheating on Ruiz
While their relationship continued to make the news, Ruiz appeared in the 2020 series of La Casa Fuerte - Spain's own version of Big Brother. In a bid to make amends, Jese reached out to Ruiz in a phone-call that was broadcast live on the reality television show.
After denying the affair, Jese could then be heard saying: "Good night, baby. I want to tell you something. If you are happy continue, if you are not happy you are not obliged to be there. I love to see you happy, and I see that you are not happy. If you want to continue you have to win." Ruiz had the opportunity to listen to a recorded message from Amar, but she refused and made it clear their friendship was over.
Breaking social distancing rules

Around about the same time he was accused of having the affair, Jese was also snapped ignoring social distancing rules at a party in Gran Canaria. He was pictured wearing a pair of giant white glasses and a colourful shirt with Ruiz.
It's understood the party was to celebrate her birthday. At a time when there were strict rules and regulations designed to prevent the spread of Coronavirus in place, the sight of Jese partying without a face mask or social distancing irked fans and the general public. In next to no time, it also infuriated his employers.
