Taylor Swift leaves Lyon in 'trouble, trouble, trouble' with nightmare clash

Lyon could be left in "trouble, trouble, trouble" by pop megastar Taylor Swift if their torrid campaign continues.

The famous French side are currently rock bottom of Ligue 1, and despite parting ways with Fabio Grosso they still lost to 10-men Lens over the weekend. If Lyon are still in this position come May, they could be left with a major headache.

In Ligue 1 the bottom two sides are demoted to Ligue 2, with 16th entering into a play-off with 3rd in Ligue 2. And if Lyon were to avoid automatic relegation they would not be able to play at home in the play-off.

Taylor Swift, who famously sings 'I knew you were trouble', is currently scheduled to play on June 2nd, 2024 at the Groupama Stadium – the same date the Ligue 1 side would play their home leg of the play-off.

A spokesman from Lyon told Le Progres: "It’s premature for the moment... we don't know if it is possible to postpone the first concert of the US superstar."

Lyon have struggled for points so far this season, and it might be a minor miracle for club to haul themselves off the bottom of the table. Lyon haven't played in the second tier of French football since the 1980s.

And in their long stint in the top flight, they set the record for the most Ligue 1 titles back-to-back, with seven between 2002 and 2008.
