Premier League clubs have just under four weeks before the transfer window opens and they can splash the cash again. The summer saw an unprecedented spending spree and January promises to be another busy month across the English top flight.

Manchester United will likely explore the market to see where they can improve following a disappointing season so far. Chelsea will also aim to build on some of the promise they've had under Mauricio Pochettino by continuing to tweak their squad.

Clubs will assess their league position come January and see where they need to strengthen the most. The winter window is notoriously difficult to lure top targets, so loan signings could well be on the agenda for some.

Partey to leave Arsenal?

Arsenal could sell Thomas Partey in January to make room for as many as three new additions, according to ESPN.

The report claims that Partey has been identified as a player who could be sold in order to raise transfer funds at the Emirates Stadium.

The Ghana international is currently sidelined with a long-term injury, which is expected to keep him out until the turn of the year.

Luiz plays down transfer talk

Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz has cooled speculation over his future amid reports linking him with a January move to Arsenal.

He told Sky Sports: "I am very happy to hear the stories but I am here at Aston Villa, my focus is totally here.

"I don’t spend a lot of time looking at the stories. I see them, but I don’t focus on that and I’m not looking at it every day. My head is here at Aston Villa.

"Aston Villa is a club that opened its doors to me when I came to England, so I have a lot of affection and a lot of love for it."

Villa revive interest in Ezzalzouli

Aston Villa could renew their pursuit of Real Betis winger Abde Ezzalzouli next month, according to Sport.

The west Midlands club were thought to have explored a move for Ezzalzouli in the summer before he left Barcelona to join Betis.

However, a new approach could reportedly be made in January, with Villa having already spoken to his representatives.

Man Utd keen on Maignan

Manchester United are interested in bringing AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan to Old Trafford, according to Foot Mercato.

It is said that Erik ten Hag is not convinced by Andre Onana and could look to replace him with Maignan, who is a player he 'really admires'.

English clubs keen on Palhinha

At least two Premier League clubs will rival Bayern Munich for the signature of Joao Palhinha in January, according to The Telegraph.

Palhinha was linked with a move to the Allianz Arena over the summer but ultimately ended up staying at Fulham.

There is no shortage of interest in his signature ahead of the new year, though, which could see him leave Craven Cottage if Fulham finally decide to cash in.

Tottenham weigh up Phillips move

Tottenham are considering whether or not to rival Newcastle for the signature of Kalvin Phillips in January, according to Rudy Galetti.

Phillips is widely expected to leave Manchester City next year after struggling for regular minutes over the last two seasons.

Newcastle have been heavily linked with the 28-year-old but it is said that Tottenham could also join the race when the bidding opens next month.

Arsenal set Kiwior conditions

Arsenal will only allow Jakub Kiwior to leave on two conditions, according to reports.

Italian outlet Calcio Mercato claims the Gunners will only sanction a permanent exit for the Pole, not a loan.

Arsenal also want to recoup at least the £21m they paid for him last January.

Milan would prefer a loan deal with the option to buy next summer.
