If you haven't guessed already, the player in question is none other than David Beckham.

The Rock took to Instagram to share a picture and video of his impressive costume.

Fans took to the comments to react, with one person writing: "David Beckham If he chose the gym instead of Manchester United."

Another added: "The Rock wearing a Manchester United jersey is the video I never knew I needed!"

While a third joked: "Costume is complete when you take free kicks like he did 😂."

Beckham also shared an image of Johnson's costume on Instagram and commented: "And the winner is @therock 🎃 looking good man I know what I’m going as next year 💪🏼 😃."

The England legend joined Man Utd in 1991 and won six Premier League titles, two FA Cups and the Champions League during his 12-year stint.

He left for Real Madrid in 2003 and went on to win two more trophies - including the La Liga title.

Beckham also played for LA Galaxy and Paris Saint-Germain before retiring in 2013.
