Arsenal fans think they know how Thomas Partey suffered his 'muscle issue'

Arsenal fans think they know how Thomas Party suffered his muscular injury which ruled him out of his side's Champions League game against Sevilla.

After Arsenal named their starting XI for their European fixture against Sevilla, the club announced the injury of Partey.

The statement on social media read: "Thomas Partey misses out on tonight's game with a muscle issue."

The 30-year-old has only managed five appearances this campaign, including just four Premier League matches.

As soon as Arsenal confirmed Partey's injury, fans conjured up a theory as to why he was ruled out of Tuesday's clash.

On Monday, the Ghanian midfielder and his girlfriend took part in a gender reveal.

In the ceremony, he can be seen kicking a ball to reveal the baby's gender. He's filmed booting the ball, with people on social media convinced this was the reason behind his muscle issue.

One X user wrote: "Thomas Partey misses out due to a muscle injury. Meanwhile, here’s him volleying the f**k out of a football for a gender reveal."

A second tweeted: "What’s funny is that I genuinely thought he could get injured when I saw this initially."

A third added: "Injury reveal party."

Another commented: "My guy forgot to stretch and warmup before the gender reveal."

Partey was an unused substitute in Arsenal's 2-2 draw against Chelsea last weekend.

Mikel Arteta could be without the player for when his team resume their Premier League campaign on Saturday against Sheffield United.
