ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC has revealed that his partner Helena Seger turned down his marriage proposal.
And despite still being with her, he has explained why he will never extend the offer to her again.
The retired football star was speaking to Piers Morgan Uncensored, when he explained the reason why he isn't married despite being with Helena for over 20 years.
When asked why he had never proposed, Ibrahimovic said: "I have. She said no. She is so strong.
"This was a couple of years ago, because I said after 20 years, you deserve to be married with me. She said, 'I don't need to be married with you, to be with you'. She is strong, she is very strong."
But the confident character seemed to like that he had been rejected.
"I think it's cool because if you do that, you gain more respect from me, because I don't have to win all the time," he explained.
And despite seeming to not care about being turned down, Ibrahimovic hinted that his ego may have been slightly bruised.
When asked if he would pop the question again, the 41-year-old said: "No, she had one chance, she will not get a second chance. But she has two boys from me, so that's even bigger than being married."
Helena, who is 11 years older than Ibrahimovic, met the Swedish legend after he had parked his Ferrari terribly and was blocking her car.
The pair have been together since 2002 and have two sons - Maximilian, 16, and Vincent, 14.
And the former Manchester United man revealed that, like him, Helena thinks their children are enough to show they have a strong relationship.
He said: "She was like, 'Listen, I don't need to marry you to show that I am together with you and we have two boys'.
"And to be honest, I don't need a piece of paper to show that she is mine. She is mine whatever paper we have among us."
