Wayne Rooney has blanked Jamie Vardy since their wives' toxic 'Wagatha Christie' spat

Wayne Rooney has not spoken to Jamie Vardy since their wives' Wagatha Christie court spat.

The high profile bust-up between two of England's best known WAGs has appears to have wrecked the players' relationship too. Wayne's wife Coleen, 37, revealed she stopped him from contacting fellow former Three Lion Jamie during the trial.

And the pair have not spoken since. Coleen celebrated beating Jamie's wife Rebekah in the courtroom showdown by drinking champagne in her garden. Speaking ahead of a new TV documentary about the case she said the victory took a while to sink in. But the next day she realised: "It got done".

She had never thought she would fall out with Rebekah. Though Coleen admitted she found making the Disney+ doc upsetting she felt she had do it because it was my turn to speak.

"Everyone was saying so many things about the case at the time, including the other side," she said. Rebekah, 41, tried to sue Coleen claiming she had wrongly accused her of being a "grass" who leaked information she posted on her private Instagram account to a downmarket newspaper.

Suspecting Vardy was the culprit, Coleen posted a series of fake stories on the account and blocked all followers except Rebekah from seeing them. When the bogus tales were published, Coleen revealed the source of the leak on social media in dramatic style, announcing: "It's... Rebekah Vardy's account."

The sting earned her the nickname 'Wagatha Christie' after famous Brit crime writer Agatha. Rebekah, 41, denied she was the source of the leaks and took Coleen to London's High Court demanding damages.

But after a sensational trial last year, a judge ruled Coleen's claim was true and tossed out Rebekah's claim leaving her with a £3.7million bill. As we revealed last week, Coleen is also publishing a book about the drama. She said: "I've never fallen out with the partner of another footballer in my life and I never thought I would.

"But I can tell when someone is trying to force a friendship because of your status. I'm very savvy about that. And I felt like the friendship Rebekah was trying to put on me was unnatural.

"I knew she enjoyed the limelight and would do things only to be in the public eye. How can someone try to create a story around someone's sister who's passed away? How can you be that vicious? I've just brought light to the table."

Asked if ex-Manchester United star Wayne, 37, had tried to contact Leicester City striker Jamie, 36, Coleen replied: "No. Wayne would have liked to during the case, but I said no. And there's been no contact since."

In the build-up to the release of the documentary Rebekah, who still maintains her innocence, said she could not understand why Coleen could not 'move on'.

Rebekah wrote on Instagram: "What I don't get why you would want to keep bringing it up. It's boring now! The public doesn't care and neither do I. She won that's the end of it! Be happy move on... because I know I have."
