Declan Rice came face-to-face with Roy Keane after scoring Arsenal's winning goal against Manchester United - and couldn't hide his delight.

The former West Ham skipper has been slammed by the United legend on multiple occasions in the past for not scoring enough goals as well as being not worth the £105million Arsenal paid for him.

The 24-year-old was the one laughing after he fired home in the closing stages to give Mikel Arteta's men three points - and Keane did not look happy.

Coming shoulder to shoulder on Sky Sports, Rice nudged Keane when presenter Dave Jones asked about criticism he has received for not scoring enough goals.

Off camera, Rice said when watching a replay of the goal with the former Republic of Ireland midfielder: "What do you reckon, boy?"

Keane replied: "OG (own goal)." In relation to the deflection the ball took off Johnny Evans before beating Andre Onana.

One fan said in response: "Roy Keane looking super awkward there. Didn't even acknowledge rice in his interview. Awkward handshake."

A second added: "Roy Keane really wants to drop him one. It’s very funny to watch." A third chucked: "Rice rubbing it into Roy Keane."

A fourth laughed: "Rice asking Roy Keane what he thinks about him scoring."

Keane had said back in March: "He's not really kicked on for all the talk about him and all the PR coming out of West Ham (over) how much he is worth.

"I think he needs to do a lot more doesn't score obviously enough goals and get enough assists."

He then added following the move to Arsenal: "They’ve paid way to much for him, Declan Rice, he’s obviously not worth over £100m."

Rice was left delighted by the result capped off by Gabriel Jesus after Martin Odegaard had cancelled out Marcus Rashford's opener, saying he has even more to give.

He said: "I think of course Arsenal is a massive club and you feel the pressure but I try to put in performances. I am eager to learn and improve and we want to push to the next level.

"Everyone's been amazing. I like to have a laugh and speak to people and I have settled in well. Everyone has made me feel welcome."
