Tottenham have reportedly received a bid from Galatasaray for attacking midfielder Giovani Lo Celso - meaning the club could be faced with a tough decision on the future of the Argentine after failing to trim down their squad. Ange Postecoglou had highlighted his desire to clear the decks but Spurs failed to shift several players that were available for transfer in the final hours of the window.
Lo Celso was not one of the stars Tottenham were actively trying to shift but he has been the subject of widespread interest throughout the window.
However, Postecoglou is believed to rate the former Real Betis and Paris Saint-Germain maestro, who could get the chance to shine in north London if he remains patient for opportunities.
Sports Digitale in Turkey suggest Galatasaray have now presented a formal bid for Lo Celso as their transfer window remains open until September 15.
It is not currently clear whether the proposal is for a loan or permanent transfer.
Express Sport understands Lo Celso's camp recently spoke with Spurs and received reassurances that he is rated by Postecoglou.
Lo Celso was absent on Saturday through injury as Tottenham won 5-2 at Burnley.
Postecoglou said ahead of the meeting: “From the other night, the only one who is missing is Gio Lo Celso.
"He got a quad strain which is why we took him off at half-time. Nothing too serious but with the international break coming [there’s time to recover].”
The Argentina international had previously started the midweek EFL Cup defeat at Fulham but was subbed off at Craven Cottage with the niggle.
Villarreal, Napoli, Aston Villa and others have all been linked with the 27-year-old in the summer transfer window.
But as stated, he is seen as a player that could force his way into Postecoglou's setup with hard work and determination.
Yet with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Eric Dier, Hugo Lloris and Davinson Sanchez still yet to finalise a transfer elsewhere, Spurs' squad remains inflated.
