Tottenham have already lost Harry Kane to Bayern Munich and one of his former team-mates could join him in Germany.

Tottenham may be bracing themselves to lose a second player to Bayern Munich in a matter of weeks after Ange Postecoglou allowed Harry Kane to head to the Bundesliga. Reports suggest the Bavarian giants are planning a move to reunite Kane with his close friend Eric Dier as Thomas Tuchel plots another raid on the Premier League club, with Borussia Dortmund also keen on the defender.

Dier hasn't played in any of Spurs' three Premier League games this season, with Postecoglou preferring the new partnership of Cristian Romero and £43million signing Micky van de Ven.

The England international has been offered the chance to leave the club this summer after falling down the pecking order under the Australian.

And the 29-year-old could decide to head for a new challenge in Germany, with Bayern and Dortmund both ready to move for the centre-back, according to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg.

Initial reports suggested Spurs had left the defender out of their squad for the Carabao Cup clash with Fulham at Craven Cottage on Tuesday evening, dropping a huge hint over his potential exit as many expected him to be given his first outing of the campaign.

Dier has made 361 appearances for the north London club since his arrival from Sporting Lisbon in 2014 and only missed five Premier League games last season, highlighting his integral role under Antonio Conte and later Ryan Mason.

When asked about his future, Postecoglou insisted Dier was still a part of his plans after omitting him from his squad for the opening day 2-2 draw against Brentford, but he has continued to keep him out of the 20-man squad since then.

“Eric is part of this team. We left a few out,” Postecoglou said.

“We left some players on the bench that are very good players. We need a strong squad, it’s not about 11 players.

“Eric is in the same boat as all the other boys. He’s working hard in training and available for selection.

“My decisions then are what I think will give us the best chance of success for any given game and then we reassess the week after. Nothing really unusual there.”
