Sky Sports reporter Melissa Ready appeared to say a Manchester United star had been "b******ing team-mates" while live on air.
Reddy was talking about the Red Devils' new shot-stopper Andre Onana when she had the apparent slip of the tongue. Speaking on Sky Sports News, Reddy said: "He's a big personality and a huge character.
"We've already seen glimpses of that, him b******ing his defenders when they've made a mistake!" And football fans were quick to pick up on the R-rated language.
"Big fan of @MelissaReddy_ casually dropping the term 'b******ing' into a live broadcast. Fair play," one fan joked. While a second added: "Can’t even swear live on tv without the woke mob getting involved can you!"
"This is absolutely ridiculous! Where are they getting these people," a third fumed. While a fourth added: "It was funny. I had to rewind to make sure she didn’t say ‘rollicking’!"
"Respect to Melissa Reddy for the gutter mouth teatime language," a fifth joked. And another added: "Seriously, nobody would’ve noticed if you didn’t apologise Sky..."
Sky Sports apologised for the language used by Reddy as they continued their build-up to United's opening Premier League clash with Wolves on Monday evening.
Onana is one of the premier names purchased by Erik ten Hag over the summer, and the Cameroonian international has replaced David De Gea. Meanwhile, the Spaniard remains a free agent after a proposed move to Real Madrid collapsed.
