Lionel Messi was amongst the goals again for Inter Miami, netting another brace in the Leagues Cup whilst being cheered on by childhood sweetheart Antonela Roccuzzo

Lionel Messi seems to be having the time of his life since joining MLS side Inter Miami.

The legendary Argentinian forward was on the scoresheet once again on Wednesday night as his new team dispatched rivals Orlando City 3-1 in the Leagues Cup.

Messi bagged himself a brace, scoring two impressive volleys, while team-mate Josef Martinez found the net from the spot to put Inter Miami into the round of 16.

Since arriving in Miami, the 36-year-old has scored five goals and registered one assist. And he was cheered on against Orlando City by his stunning childhood sweetheart Antonela Roccuzzo.

Sitting in the stands at DRV PNK Stadium, Roccuzzo was left beaming after watching her husband score on seven minutes for Inter Miami. Ghosting into space in the box, Messi got onto the end of Robert Taylor's clipped through ball, taking the pass down on his chest before firing home past Drake Callender.

Messi and Roccuzzo, who has 36.3million followers on Instagram, first met during their childhood back in Rosario, Argentina. They have known each other for more than 20 years, eventually tying the knot in 2017.

The 35-year-old has been in attendance at all of Messi's Inter Miami games so far, watching from the stands with their three children, Thiago, Mateo and Ciro. And it's safe to say Messi fans were loving seeing Roccuzzo celebrating against Orlando City.

One fan wrote: "Messi winning on and off the pitch." Another added: "Lionel Messi won in life." A third claimed: "He’s him. Antonela knew that already."

And a fourth commented: "Messi may be the goat of football, but he’s also the luckiest man on earth. She is truly one of the most perfect looking women on the planet.

Having made three appearances so far for Inter Miami, Messi is yet to make his official MLS debut. All three of his appearances so far have come in the Leagues Cup, with Messi helping Inter Miami beat Cruz Azul 2-1, before dispatching Atlanta United 4-0.

They will face off against FC Dallas in the round of 16 in the Leagues Cup this weekend, before returning to MLS action later this month against Charlotte FC on August 21.
