The striker was hospitalised following a collision with United goalkeeper Nathan Bishop during the ugly clash.
It is unknown how long Mullin will be sidelined for, with Wrexham reportedly looking at potential replacements.
According to Alan Nixon, Phil Parkinson's side have identified James Norwood as a possible taget.
He reports that the Red Dragons are already plotting a move for the Barnsley forward.
Norwood has a year left on his deal at Oakwell after an extension was triggered this summer.
He has scored 11 goals in 49 appearances for the Tykes since signing from Ipswich in 2022.
The striker would also arrive at Wrexham with League Two experience, having netted 29 times in 45 matches for Tranmere at that level.
Wrexham are set to begin their League Two campaign on August 5 at home to MK Dons.
However, they are now facing the prospect of being without their 38-goal hero.
Mullin was forced off immediately after colliding with Bishop during the clash against a youthful United side.
Wrexham staff and players were left furious after the incident, despite the keeper apologising for his involvement.
Although Mullin later gave an update from hospital, it is not currently known how long he will be out for.
The match in San Diego ended in a 3-1 win for Wrexham, with Daniel Gore sent off for United.
Goals from Elliot Lee, Aaron Hayden and Sam Dalby secured victory, whilst Marc Jurado scored a consolation for the Red Devils.
