Tottenham star agrees personal terms with Spanish giants

A headline member of the midfield ranks at Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur has agreed to the personal terms of a contract with La Liga giants Atletico Madrid, according to reports.

Hojbjerg, it is understood, has long emerged as a key target on the part of Diego Simeone and the powers that be at the Wanda Metropolitano.

The capital giants are on the hunt for reinforcements in the middle of the park with a view to next season, on the back of Geoffrey Kondogbia’s departure for Olympique Marseille.

With Hojbjerg having surprisingly been deemed expendable by incoming Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou, a move to Madrid, in turn, could prove a suitable outcome for all parties.

And, as alluded to above, on Sunday, such a development has moved a significant step closer to coming to fruition.

As revealed by Gary Jacob and Tom Roddy of The Times, on the back of a fresh round of negotiations, Hojbjerg has reached a contract agreement with the powers that be at Atleti.

Fresh discussions, as a result, will imminently be kicked back into gear with Spurs, ahead of what could prove to be a decisive week for the transfer.
