Luton Town have, on Friday, closed an agreement to sign an up-and-coming member of the defensive ranks at Premier League rivals Manchester City.
The player in question? Issa Kabore.
For those not familiar with his name, Kabore is a 22-year-old right-back, who made the move to England with City back in 2020.
Owing to the wealth of options at the disposal of Pep Guardiola, the Burkina Faso international is, unsurprisingly, yet to be afforded his Premier League bow, instead farmed out on a series of loans to gain further experience.
The most recent came this past season, when Kabore made the move to France, notching 22 Ligue 1 appearances across a stint with Olympique Marseille.
And, evidently, such endeavours proved enough to pique the attentions of those in a position of power at the aforementioned Luton.
In turn, the Hatters, on Friday, have swooped decisively, to bring the defender to Kenilworth Road.
As confirmed by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, all of Manchester City, Luton, and Kabore himself have signed off on a deal which will see the 28-time capped international link up with Rob Edwards' side on a year-long loan.
The agreement, it is understood, will not feature an option to buy, with Kabore's contract at The Etihad also set to be extended through 2027 ahead of the transfer's official announcement.
