Manchester United footballer Mason Greenwood has confirmed the birth of his first child.
The 21-year-old, who has been suspended by the club since last year, took to Instagram to share a photo of the baby's hand just days after the birth on Tuesday.
The update comes with Greenwood waiting on the club's verdict over his status as a player, with a decision to be made before the new Premier League season gets underway.
The post gained more than 50,000 likes in just over 10 minutes on Friday, with the England international having 2.7million followers on the platform.
It was his first post on social media since his suspension, marking 18 months since he shared an update with followers.
The forward hasn't played for the club since January of 2022 after being charged with attempted rape, engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour and assault.
Police said in a statement in February that Greenwood "no longer faces criminal proceedings" and the Crown Prosecution Service dropped the case.

Greenwood made 129 senior appearances for the club scoring 35 goals after progressing through their youth academy, with his future up in the air.
Greenwood said in a statement when the charges were dropped: "I am relieved that this matter is now over and I would like to thank my family, loved ones and friends for their support.
"There will be no further comment at this time."
The picture on social media gained plenty of attention
United's follow-up statement earlier this year said: "Manchester United notes the decision of the Crown Prosecution Service that all charges against Mason Greenwood have been dropped. The club will now conduct its own process before determining next steps.
"We will not make any further comment until that process is complete."
More than 150 days have passed since that statement and the club have publicly provided no further update.
