Messi, 35, has reportedly penned a two-and-a-half-year contract worth £830,000 a week.
He will be announced as a Miami player on Sunday along with his former Barcelona team-mate Sergio Busquets, who also snubbed offers from Saudi Arabia.
And according to journalist Franco Panizo, Shakira is set to perform at the unveiling.
He also claims rapper Bad Bunny and Colombian singer Maluma will also provide some entertainment, but fans are most excited about Shakira.
That's because many are hoping she will sing her Gerard Pique diss track - another former team-mate of Messi's.
One fan said: "Shakira has to sing that diss track."
Another added: "Shakira needs to sing the Pique diss track at Messi's presentation."
And a third said: "Shakira and Messi collab for a Gerard Pique diss track."
Shakira, 46, released the track following her acrimonious split from Pique last year.
It includes scathing lyrics such as "I'm too big for you, that's why you're with someone just like you."
Shakira has since been linked to Lewis Hamilton and was spotted at the British Grand Prix last weekend.
The pair also enjoyed a wild night out, partying at celebrity haunt Tape London.
In the past few weeks Shakira has been seen cheering on Mercedes driver Lewis — a seven-times world champion — at the Grand Prix in Spain and Miami, where she joined him for a luxury boat trip.
They were also spotted enjoying a cosy dinner in Barcelona not long after Lewis had finished racing.
