Arsenal aren't showing any signs of slowing down their summer spending spree.
The north London side reached a full agreement to sign defender Jurrien Timber from Ajax on Tuesday in a deal worth up to €45 million, reports David Ornstein of The Athletic.
After Ajax rejected their initial €30-million bid, Arsenal convinced the Eredivisie side to sell the highly rated Dutch international with an offer worth €40 million plus €5 million in add-ons.
The 22-year-old, who has two years left on his Ajax deal, has been allowed to undergo a medical with Arsenal and finalize terms of a contract.
He's expected to sign a long-term deal until 2028, according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano.
The center-back, who can also play right-back, will be Arsenal's second summer signing after Kai Havertz joined from Chelsea last week for a reported fee of £65 million.
Mikel Arteta's side is also close to finalizing a deal to sign West Ham United captain Declan Rice for a reported club-record fee of £105 million.
