Pitch invader lifts Cristiano Ronaldo off the ground before doing his 'Siu' celebration in bizarre incident

Cristiano Ronaldo was involved in a bizarre incident with a supporter during Portugal's Euro 2024 qualifier against Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Portugal won the match at Benfica's Estadio da Luz 3-0 thanks to Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva and a second-half brace from Manchester United's Bruno Fernandes.

Ronaldo, 38, started the game but was unable to get on the scoresheet on his 199th appearance for his country.

But it will be a match that lasts long in the memory of the five-time Ballon d'Or winner.

That's because of a strange incident involving a fan that occurred around 10 minutes into the second half, which you can watch in the video below.

A supporter draped in the Portuguese flag and carrying another in his hand invaded the pitch and immediately made his way over to Ronaldo.

After hugging the Portuguese captain, the fan then dropped to his knees and appeared the kiss the player's feet.

He then got back to his own feet and hugged the former Manchester United star before lifting him in to the air.

The fan then shook hands with the Al Nassr striker before performing his trademark 'Siu' celebration to the delight of the home supporters.

To top it all off, the fan then took off running before stewards could reach both him and Ronaldo, with the match eventually resuming after a short break.

Thankfully, no one appeared to be hurt and Ronaldo seemed to take it in good humour but there will be concerns over how easily a supporter was able to reach the Portuguese superstar.

Victory for Portugal maintains their 100 per cent start to Euro 2024 qualifying.

They are now top of Group J on nine points from three games after previously beating minnows Liechtenstein and Luxembourg.

Portugal boss Roberto Martinez will be hoping his side can claim another win when they face Iceland away from home on Tuesday, in what could be Ronaldo's 200th game for his country.
