Granada footballer Myrto Uzuni capped off a memorable season in style by proposing to his gorgeous girlfriend moments after his team secured promotion to La Liga.

Enlisting help from the stadium lighting crew, the Albanian walked his University student partner, Uarda Hyseni, into the centre circle during the squad's end-of-season lap of honour before dropping to one knee when the floodlights were romantically dimmed.

A huge cheer went up from Uzuni's team-mates and the remnants of the matchday crowd when a gobsmacked Uarda accepted and wrapped her arms around her soon-to-be hubby.

Uarda uploaded a clip of the moment on Instagram, describing it as the "happiest day of my life".

"I said yes," she wrote. "I'm very excited and I can't find the words to describe this happiness. It was the happiest day of my life." Addressing her footballer fiancé, she added: "You make me feel like the happiest woman in the world. You always do and I'm sure you always will.

"I am grateful to God for bringing you into my life and we will always be together in every step we take."

Uarda has over 18,000 followers on Instagram and regularly fills her page with breathtaking holiday pics, and bikini snaps and pics from her modelling shoots.

Uzuni, meanwhile, netted 20 goals in 29 league matches to fire Granada back to the big time, a year after they were relegated to the Segunda Division.

The 27-year-old signed for the club mid-way through last season, having previously played for clubs in Hungary, Croatia and in his native Albania.
