Southampton, who were relegated from the Premier League last week, are looking to finalize a deal for Swansea's 37-year-old manager Russell Martin to replace Ruben Selles, according to reports in The Guardian.
The club are expected to formalise a deal to make Martin their new manager next week. Swansea are awaiting a formal approach for Martin, who has developed a fine reputation there in the second tier after leaving MK Dons.
Rasmus Ankersen, the chairman of Southampton’s owner, Sport Republic is an admirer of Martin following his exploits with Swansea.
Arsenal working on new Saliba deal
Mikel Arteta revealed that Arsenal are working behind the scenes to extend William Saliba's contract which has just more than a year left.
"We are having conversations, we are trying to maintain the talent at the club. Everybody’s intention is the same and hopefully, we will find the right solution," the manager stated.
