David de Gea agrees new Manchester United contract but may lose first-choice status
According to the Telegraph, Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has finally agreed upon the terms of a new deal and is set to put pen to paper imminently, but the Red Devils have given him no assurances about holding the No.1 shirt should he choose to stay put at Old Trafford.
De Gea, who is currently the club’s highest earner and would net £350,000-a-week if the club qualify for the Champions League, has agreed to take a massive salary reduction. The 32-year old will now take home a significantly lower basic salary with the deal heavily incentivised instead, with bonuses for matches played and performance-related clauses.
United have been scouring a number of potential goalkeeper options as they look to bring in a long-term replacement for De Gea and are long-time admirers of Porto’s Diogo Costa and Brentford’s David Raya.
Barcelona make Monaco's Vanderson priority right-back target
According to Spanish outlet Sport, Monaco right-back Vanderson could make the move to Barcelona this summer should the Catalan club appoint Deco as their new director of football.
Deco is one of the names in the running to replace Mateu Alemany, who will leave the club for Aston Villa this summer, as Barcelona director.
If appointed, Sport claim Deco has already laid the foundations for a move for Vanderson, who is represented by Giuliano Bertolucci, and is also on the radar of Manchester United. Villarreal's Juan Foyth and Man City's Joao Cancelo have also been linked with Barca, who are on the lookout for a natural right-back this summer.
Real Madrid are eyeing potential move for Spurs star
Pedro Porro has had a difficult start to life at Spurs since joining in January, with the manager and the sporting director both shown the exit door, while the wing-back has also attracted criticism for his performances.
However, according to MundoDeportivo, Porro is on Real Madrid’s radar, just months after his switch to Tottenham. The report adds that Real Madrid are on the lookout for Dani Carvajal’s successor ahead of the summer transfer window, with the Spurs wing-back said to be one of the names on their shortlist.
Along with Porro, former Spurs defender Juan Foyth, Bayer Leverkusen’s Frimpong and Chelsea’s Reece James are the three other names on the Los Blancos’ wishlist.
PSG considering summer bid for Crystal Palace's Michael Olise
Paris Saint-Germain are keen on signing Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise as a potential replacement for Lionel Messi, according to the Daily Mail.
Olise, 21, has impressed for Palace this season and PSG are potentially looking to replace both Neymar and Messi this summer. The Parisians are aiming to invest in younger talent rather than established names moving forwards, and Olise fits the profile.
The report adds that the France U21 international could be replaced in south London by Flamengo's in-demand 19-year-old winger Matheus Franca.
Torres open to joining Aston Villa amid Barcelona struggles
Barcelona attacker Ferran Torres could be open to joining Aston Villa in the summer, according to Football Insider, with the Catalan club potentially looking to force him out to help balance the club's finances. Unai Emery is a huge admirer of the 23-year-old and is eager to sign him as part of Villa's ambitious long-term plans.
Chelsea set to submit offer for Sadio Mane
According to Football Insider, Chelsea are planning on making a proposal to sign Bayern Munich striker Sadio Mane.
The Senegalese has endured an unimpressive start to life at Bayern Munich since joining them from Liverpool last summer. The 31-year-old has 12 goals and five assists in 36 games across competitions this season, but the Bavarians are reportedly ready to let him go, despite featuring in Thomas Tuchel's starting lineup in recent games.
Mane also remains keen to leave the Allianz Arena and is open to a return to England, where he enjoyed a great spell in the Premier League with Liverpool. As per the report, Chelsea want to make the Senegalese star their first summer signing, with potential new Blues manager Mauricio Pochettino said to be keen for the move to happen.
