Veteran centre-back Silva, 38, has been a shining light in an otherwise torrid season for the Blues.

But wife Belle, who took aim at Chelsea earlier this season, admitted she feels helpless as the "situation worsens" at home.

Silva's long-term partner took to Twitter after the Blues were beaten 3-1 at Arsenal on Tuesday evening,

Belle wrote: "Very difficult to see what I see on tv.

"At home the situation worsens because I don't know how to help, what to say.
"Very sad @tsilva3 you aren’t alone."

The result means Chelsea have now lost all six games under caretaker boss Frank Lampard.

And overall the Blues are winless in their last nine games in all competitions - a run that stretches back almost two months.

Silva has played 31 times for the Blues this season, but has been helpless to stopping the club's woes.

Chelsea fans have even admitted they "don't deserve" Silva on social media.

The defender himself hit out at the club's transfer strategy last month as he lamented the turmoil at Stamford Bridge.

Speaking to TNT Sports Brazil, he said: "I think the first step has been made, an incorrect step, but it has been made.

"We can’t be blaming the managers if we don’t take responsibility. It’s a hard period for the club, with a lot of indecision.

"Change of ownership, new players arriving – we had to increase the size of the changing room because it didn’t fit the size of the squad.

"A positive point is that there are amazing players in the squad but on the other hand there are always players that are going to be unhappy.

"There is always going to be someone upset because not everyone can play. The manager can only pick 11 from a squad of 30-something – that’s tough.

"Some can’t make the squad, we signed eight in January, we need to stop and put a strategy in place otherwise next season we could make the same mistakes."
