Forgotten Premier League ace Sasa Curcic retired at 29 "just to have sex" and claims he was with Naomi Campbell.

The former Serbia midfielder spent four years in England, appearing in the Premier League for Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Bolton Wanderers. Despite making 65 Premier League appearances, though, it was his wild off-field antics which made Curcic a cult hero at both Villa and Palace, with his lifestyle seeing him dubbed "the Serbian George Best" by fans.

The lifestyle followed Curcic to the USA after he joined MetroStars in 1999, when he has admitted he passed his medical on a disco dance floor.

Just two years after leaving England, Curcic chose to retire at the age of 29 in 2001, a decision he allegedly made "just to have sex".

He was reported to have told the media at the time: "I have given up football for sex. I wouldn't sign for another club even if they gave me £10m, but it would be different if they were to offer me 15 different women from across the world.

"I would tell the club chairman: 'Please let me make these women happy – I will satisfy them like they have never been satisfied.' Nowadays, every time I think about football I feel like throwing up."

Curcic later dismissed the reports as "rubbish" but his claims about his sex life did not waiver, with his alleged partners including actress Carmen Electra and supermodel Eva Herzigova.

As well as Herzigova, Curcic also claimed to have slept with fellow supermodel Naomi Campbell, telling The Sun: "She (Naomi Campbell) was a Crystal Palace fan. She came to a game and we met in the VIP box. After two weeks I invited her to a party.

"She was a tough girl, I had to wait a month. It was great in bed but it was a mess. Woman’s hair disgusts me, when I see it on the floor I get p***ed off, and Naomi used to leave it everywhere. It was a disaster, like all models."

Curcic has continued to entertain since hanging up his boots 22 years ago, with the 51-year-old appearing on several Serbian reality shows, including winning their version of Celebrity Big Brother in 2007.

He also went on to form his own football academy in 2015, with flyers offering coaching sessions led by Curcic posted through letterboxes around London.
