Juventus have flown up the Serie A table after having their points deduction overturned, following an order from Italy's top sport body for the court to review their previous ruling. However, former Juve sporting director Fabio Paratici has seen an appeal on his 30-month ban from football activity rejected, plunging his Tottenham future into further doubt.
Juve were slapped with a painful 15-point deduction in January this year by an Italian football court investigating the club's transfer dealings. Manager Massimiliano Allegri saw his side tumble down to 10th in the Serie A table, although they have since fought their way back into European contention.
Those aspirations were handed a major boost on Thursday after the courts were ordered to review their punishment. During January's legal proceedings, a prosecutor initially requested a nine-point deduction, which was gazumped by the court.
For the moment, all the points previously deducted have been given back to Juventus, which sees them jump up to third in the Serie A table, behind only Lazio and Napoli.

However, reports indicate that the Appeal Court will be requested to reconsider their sanction, which could lead to a fresh deduction of between five and ten points. Napoli are already away and clear as they hunt down their first league title since 1990.
But a revised penalty could leave Juventus with a strong chance of making the top four this campaign and returning to Europe's premier club competition. Only Napoli can better the Bianconeri's haul of 18 league wins so far this term.
As part of the investigation into Juventus' alleged financial mismanagement, former sporting director Paratici was handed a 30-month ban from all activity within the Italian Football Federation back in January. His ban was subsequently extended to worldwide football activities by FIFA, having taken up the role of Tottenham transfer chief in 2021.
He consequently stepped back from his role at Spurs, who have endured a chaotic season, during which Antonio Conte was sacked and fans became disgruntled with their pragmatic style of play.

The north London side waited patiently to find out whether an appeal against Paratici's ban had been successful this week, but an Italian court threw it out to uphold the punishment.
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has reportedly taken charge of the hunt for a new manager for the time being, with Cristian Stellini and Ryan Mason in temporary charge until the end of the season.
