Fans joked that Mourinho confirmed his new role as West Ham boss with his crossed arm pose

Fans say that Roma boss Jose Mourinho 'confirmed' his switch to West Ham by posing with crossed arms on social media.

Mourinho was named as a shock contender to replace under-fire Hammers boss David Moyes on Thursday - to the delight and dismay of the club's fans. And the Portuguese tactician stoked the flames of the claim by posing with his arms crossed - seemingly depicting the intertwined hammers on the West Ham badge.

It was all fans needed to insist that Mourinho was en route to East London. Underneath the post, one user quipped: "Mourinho to West Ham confirmed," - a comment that gained 841 likes.

Then another fan declared: "Welcome to West Ham mate glad to see you." While a third supporter exclaimed: "yes, of course! You can believe it!"

However it's likely that Mourinho was just showing off the luxury Hublot watch he was wearing on one wrist, and flaunting the Matilde jewellry bracelet he had on the other, whilst flexing in the white top given to him by Adidas. Mourinho captioned the photo: "Thanks a lot @adidas @hublot @matilde.jewellery."

But not everyone would welcome Mourinho to the London Stadium with open arms. After news broke of his potential switch, one fan groaned: "Our fans would hate him. Boring football." While another said: "no, no, no, no, no, no.”

Although others were excited by the news and were preparing to roll out the red carpet for the ex-Chelsea boss. One fan countered the moans by saying: "The fans have put up with boring football under Moyes when we were winning. It's a trade off, if you are gonna play boring football be successful with it and the fans will accept it.”

Then a second user cooed: "Yes God damn please." But the Hammers will have to move swiftly if they want Mourinho who's also been linked with a sensational return to Stamford Bridge to replace Graham Potter in the dugout.
