Mason Mount could be at the centre of Premier League bidding war this summer with the unsettled Chelsea midfielder's contract situation being monitored by rivals.

Manchester United, Liverpool and Manchester City are all said to be keeping an eye on the 24-year-old, who helped the Blues to Champions League glory in 2020/21.

Mount is currently under contract at Chelsea until the summer of 2024, but could have fears over this playing time following a spending spree of £600million under Todd Boehly.

ESPN reports that the aforementioned trio are monitoring Mount's contract situation as talks stall over a new deal - with 'little progress' in recent months.

It adds that Mount is reluctant to sign a new long-term deal like the one agreed by Mykhailo Mudryk, who signed a staggering eight-and-a-half year contract.

However, it is said that the 36-cap England international is not pushing for a move, with reports in Spain saying he could be included in a permanent deal for Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid.

Earlier this season Graham Potter spoke very highly of Mount, who he admired during his time as manager at Brighton.

He said: "I think it's his personality as much as his football ability.

"He enjoys the game, loves the game, loves the club, loves his teammates, wants to win, wants to improve, is open-minded, prepared to suffer, prepared to do the ugly side of the game.

"Then he has the quality to be the match winner that he was at the weekend, but the other stuff, I think, is the stuff below the water, below the iceberg. That's what maybe you don't recognise or see with him, but he is a top person, a top professional."

Mount's future could depend on Chelsea's status in Europe, with the team currently sitting 10th in the Premier League after eight wins from 22 matches.

Having been knocked out of both the League Cup and FA Cup by Manchester City, they also lost the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie at Borussia Dortmund.
