Paul Pogba's nightmare Juventus return has seen him labelled a "big problem" by former midfielder Marco Tardelli.

Pogba, 29, is yet to play for the Serie A side since re-joining them on a free transfer at the end of his Manchester United contract last summer. A long-term knee injury has kept him sidelined - but he went on holiday to the ski slopes over Christmas.

The midfielder hit back at critics by posting a video which insisted he hadn't been joining in on the snowy action. But ex-Italy international Tardelli, 68, is fuming at his antics.

He told 90 Minute on Rai 2: "Pogba hasn't played since April 2022, when he was still in Manchester. It's now a problem for Juve, we don't know when he'll return and we don't know what he wants to do.

"Pogba goes skiing while his team-mates are struggling with the big problems of Juve. Today Pogba is a big problem that the Bianconeri must solve.

"This situation also demonstrates that Juve do not have clear enough ideas. [Massimiliano] Allegri has to take over for me, it's not possible to have a player like that on the payroll. His behaviour towards his team-mates isn't fair either, it annoys me."

Tardelli's comments come after Pogba's latest injury setback. He was on the bench for their 2-0 home defeat to Monza last month but picked up a hip flexor problem before he could make his return.

He's subsequently been absent for the last three matches and is out for an indefinite period of time. After a 1-0 win over Fiorentina at the weekend, boss Allegri said: "Pogba cannot be called up, he’s still out at the moment.

"He’s not there, I’m sorry to say it but that’s the reality. He’s working to be available again, [but] right now I can’t tell you when he’ll be back. Maybe in 20 days, I don’t know."
