Former Brazil international Hulk became a household name thanks to his ripped physique - but he shockingly lost nearly a stone of body weight in a recent match

Iconic football star Hulk lost nearly a stone in weight in just one match after scoring a last-minute winner for his side.

The 36-year-old, who became known worldwide during his Porto days thanks to his insanely ripped physique, is still in phenomenal shape back in his native Brazil, where he plays for Atletico Mineiro.

Having been injured for the final few matches of their 2022 campaign, he's hit the ground running at the start of the new season. After netting two penalties in their first game of the year, he popped up with a last-gasp goal in a 2-1 victory on Sunday (January 29).

The following day Atletico released a video on their YouTube channel, which showed Hulk weighing in before and after the game. Beforehand he'd tipped the scales at 97.6kg, which equates to 15st and 5lbs.

Then afterwards he was 91.9kg, or 14st and 7lbs. The Atletico social media team wrote: "Did he run a lot during the game? The man is a machine on the field!"

Hulk earned his nickname thanks to his likeness to actor Lou Ferrigno, who played the character in the television series The Incredible Hulk.

After four-year spells with Porto, Zenit Saint Petersburg and Shanghai SIPG, he returned to his homeland to see out the final years of his career.

While he's no longer in the spotlight of European football, Hulk hit the headlines in 2019 when he began dating the niece of his ex-wife.

After breaking up with Iran Angelo, whom he has three children with, Hulk hooked up with her younger relative Camila. The pair have since married and welcomed daughter Zaya into the world last year April.

But Hulk is far from having a dad bod, and his impressive fitness levels mean he's probably got a few more years in the tank before he hangs up his boots.
