Liverpool formally announce Cody Gakpo signing

Liverpool have formally announced the signing of Cody Gakpo.

The Reds revealed their £44million move for the PSV Eindhoven forward on December 28, subject to the final details being completed.

And on Tuesday, Liverpool confirmed Gakpo, 23, is now registered with the club - and could be in line to make his debut at the weekend.

Liverpool host fellow Premier League side Wolves in the FA Cup at Anfield on Saturday evening, with Gakpo likely to make his bow in the third-round tie.

Gakpo will wear the No 18 shirt for the club, the same as compatriot Dirk Kuyt once did in his six seasons at the club, which saw him rack up 71 goals in 286 appearances in all competitions.
