Barcelona are reportedly ready to put Raphinha on the transfer market just months after they signed the Brazilian following a series of less than impressive outings.

The winger joined Barcelona after they hijacked a deal agreed with Chelsea, who had in turn hijacked a move from Arsenal to secure the then Leeds United forward, with Raphinha signing a five year contract at the Camp Nou.

However, just two goals and two assists in 13 La Liga outings, along with the rejuvenation of Ousmane Dembele and the failure to qualify for the Champions League knockout rounds for the second consecutive campaign, have left him seemingly a luxury addition.

And, as per Relevo, this has led to the Brazilian close to being placed on the transfer market as the club look to raise more money to rebuild their squad after activating several financial ‘levers’ last summer.

“At 65 million, Raphinha was one of the great investments of Joan Laporta’s Board of Directors and they expected him to have much more prominence and incidence in the game than he is having”, they report.

It has led, they continue, to the possibility of the winger being put on the transfer market in order to generate more funds, with the club needing to make a big sale next summer to help balance their financial books.

Meanwhile, Raphinha himself “believes that he needs more continuity and more confidence from the coaching staff”, after turning down a move to Stamford Bridge to follow the likes of Ronaldinho and Rivaldo to the Camp Nou.

There are certainly other options to leave, with the likes of Memphis Depay, Ferran Torres and Frenkie de Jong all linked with moves away, but should Raphinha’s form continue to wane, the speculation will only increase.
