Brazil's World Cup chances 'ruined by time traveller' who 'changed the outcome'
Neymar was in tears as Brazil crashed out in the quarter-finals

Brazil had been tipped for World Cup glory in Qatar by a self-proclaimed time-traveler - but fans have a theory that he 'changed' the tournament outcome by revealing the winner.

The Facebook supporters group, which has more than 30,000 members, begin looking into the reasons for Brazil's failure despite him claiming to see it happen.

A new theory says that because the 'true' outcome was revealed before it happened, it changed the result of the tournament - in a true Avengers: Endgame style plot twist.

Brazil ended up crashing out on penalties to Croatia to miss a mouth-watering South American derby semi-final against Argentina, with Lionel Messi then firing his side into a final against either Morocco or France.

With one commentator saying the time traveler was 'full of s***' another hypothesis was that a change in destiny took place because of the big reveal.

They said: "But remember everything is observer relative. His presence here alone could have changed the outcome." Mind-blowing.

Another then laughed: "He came from an alternate future!"

Brazil were the pic of many experts to go all the way in Qatar, 20 years after they celebrated their fifth and most recent World Cup trophy.

With manager Tite resigning and Thiago Silva retiring from the national team, Neymar is also considering his future despite being only 30.

Neymar wrote on Instagram: "Still hurts like hell this loss, we were so close, so close.

Unfortunately or fortunately I still haven't learned to lose.

"Defeats make me stronger but they hurt me too much and I'm still not used to it. Anyway, we have to move on... life moves us on, even if it hurts and the hurt takes time to heal, we have to move on.

"Once again I want to thank the Brazilian people for their support and affection. Hearing from you that we fought, delivered until the end comforts a little of our pain.

"Thank you Qatar for everything.. The cup was beautiful and she had to be from Brazil to crown it all, but by God's destiny it wasn't."
