Cristiano Ronaldo's future at Manchester United could have been clarified after the club dropped a huge hint.
The 37-year-old had wanted to leave Old Trafford during the summer after United missed out on qualification for the Champions League but was denied a move. He has continued to be linked with a move away in January since, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season, although the club do have the option to extend it by a further year.
However, the unveiling of a new mural at Old Trafford appears to have confirmed that Ronaldo will not be allowed to leave mid-season.
Ronaldo has been included in a poster on the side of the stadium displaying the club's iconic number sevens and also features David Beckham, Eric Cantona and Ella Toone. The Portuguese striker appears in United's home kit for the current season.
Despite his inclusion in the mural, Ronaldo's long-term future remains in doubt, with the club yet to confirm if his deal will be extended beyond the end of the campaign.
On the pitch, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner recently returned to the starting line-up after being dropped for the visit to Chelsea after refusing to come on against Tottenham Hotspur.

He later apologised for his behaviour, with Erik ten Hag later stating: "I count on Cristiano." The United boss was also asked if he thinks Ronaldo will stay or if he wants him at the club for rest of the season, to which he answered: "Both."
Ronaldo even captained the Red Devils away to Aston Villa on Sunday, the first time he has worn the armband in the league this season.
However, he was reportedly Ten Hag's fourth choice to captain the side, with Harry Maguire on the bench, David de Gea overlooked as he was in goal and Casemiro missing out on the role due to his lack of English.
Ten Hag's side went on to fall to a 3-1 defeat at Villa Park, with Ronaldo booked during the match and United now three points adrift of the top four.
