Neymar has teased an incredible switch to Real Madrid after posing in a Vinicius Jr shirt.

The Brazilian superstar, 30, posted a snap to his Instagram story in which he posed in a grey T-shirt. Neymar's top sported various pictures of his compatriot from his time at Real Madrid, including Vinicius’ Champions League victory last season.

He beamed with pride as he showed support for the 22-year-old wonderkid, but the Real Madrid-themed shirt understandably came as a surprise to some given his history with rivals Barcelona.

Prior to his Paris Saint-Germain move in 2017 for around £200million, Neymar had spent four years with the Catalan club. He won two La Liga titles as well as a Champions League trophy while making 186 appearances and netting on 105 occasions.

To see him endorsing a player in a Real Madrid jersey unsurprisingly set tongues wagging, with one fan on Twitter writing: “Neymar to Madrid. Who says no?”

Another Madrid fan joked: “Looks like he is living his dream of playing at Real Madrid through Vini. It’s sad to see this.”

Neymar and Vinicius are set to take to the World Cup later this month as they hope to bring the coveted trophy back to Brazil for the first time since 2002. Despite netting 75 goals for Selecao, the closest Neymar has come to the prize is the semi-finals in 2014, before being knocked out by Germany in a 7-1 drubbing.

He and Los Blancos starlet Vinicius both featured for Brazil in the 2021 Copa America as they were knocked out in the final by Lionel Messi’s Argentina.

But the twinkle-toed veteran will be hoping things will be different this time around as he enjoys his most stellar season to date with PSG. Neymar’s 14 goals and 11 assists already this campaign will no doubt give Brazilians hope that it could be their year for a record sixth World Cup triumph.
