Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is not going to resign from his post as Liverpool manager.

That's according to the German's agent, who has addressed rumours that the Reds boss could end his time on Merseyside after seven seasons and several major trophies across his tenure.

Klopp is adored by Anfield for his success at the club, having lifted the Premier League for the first time in 30 years, the club's sixth Champions League and a domestic cup double last season of the FA Cup and League Cup. But this season has started with a stutter.

The Merseysiders have played 12 in the Premier League, winning just four and drawing four. At the weekend, the Reds suffered a first defeat in front of their own fans since before lockdown, Leeds triumphed 2-1 and Virgil van Dijk's 70-match unbeaten home run came to an end.

But despite the pressure mounting on Liverpool to qualify for next season's edition of the Champions League, Klopp is going nowhere, says his agent.

"I can assure that Jurgen Klopp has no intention of resigning from Liverpool," Marc Kosicke told Sky Germany(opens in new tab).

"The fact that problems could arise this season due to the past intensive season was taken into account by the club's owners before the start of the season.

"Jurgen enjoys the backing of the people in charge and is in regular contact with them. He loves the club, his team and the fans and is determined to continue and successfully complete the transition in Liverpool. He didn't extend his contract until 2026 for nothing."

Klopp is approaching 400 matches in charge and is contracted until 2026(opens in new tab).
