The festival of football may well be in Qatar this year, but FIFA has also advertised a more zen looking sober retreat where football fans can pet goats and weave baskets

Three Lions fans can tend goats, hear a lecture on composting and weave baskets on a £7,500 World Cup camping break.

Fifa are offering the accommodation package at a wellness retreat in Qatar where supporters can also nurture palm trees and harvest spices. The alcohol-free haunt is in the desert close to the capital Doha – where a tent with a double bed, wi-fi and air con is £2,500 a night for two, with a three-night minimum stay.

Fifa’s website says: “Heenat Salma is a farm, an education centre, and a rural escape that puts you back in touch with nature and will provide Fifa World Cup fans with a truly unique experience. The farm offers workshops and focuses on wellbeing.

"Dine at the organic kitchen, attend a craftsmanship class or a wellness treatment session during your stay.” Fans can spend time between games making their own massage oils – there’s even a talk on composting.

The farm reveals on its website: “Learn about aromatherapy and how to make farm leaves into herbal bundles for fumigation and macerated oils for massage. Gain awareness of different properties and usage. You will take home your own massage oil and herbal bundle.”

The centre adds about pottery lessons: “Students of this introductory workshop will learn all the processes of working with clay, from its extraction, modelling, drying, and burning, as well as the social and economic importance of its production in our local communities.

"Finish at least one ceramic work, which will be fired and can be collected from Katara Art Center after 7−10 days.” The tents come with a shower and fans are told: “Our 40 square metre tents are elegant and spacious, fitted with local hand crafted furniture and featuring an open bathroom with a shower, and a private garden.

The spaces we design at Heenat Salma Farm positively influence and shape the way our guests feel. We design interiors that prioritise wellbeing.

“We have consciously avoided the colour-saturated, eye-catching aesthetic popularised on Instagram. In contrast to the vivid palettes and bold wallpapers of fancy hotels our fine mix of natural and noble materials create a very special atmosphere that is subtle and classic.”
