Kevin de Bruyne looked shocked when he was handed a Manchester United shirt and immediately asked if he could burn it.
The Manchester City star could not help but burst into laughing when given the kit, that had his surname and No. 17 on the back. And it led to some intense replies from fans as a short clip went viral on social media.
The Belgium international has made history with City, where he joined in 2015 and has already gone on to solidify himself as a legend at the Etihad. De Bruyne has already equalled Steven Gerrard's Premier League assists in 287 fewer games - a total of 95 now.
But after being gifted a shirt from Mid Mid podcast, from Belgian channel Play Sports, De Bruyne was less than impressed with the fact it came from City's biggest rival. The 31-year-old chuckled and asked: "Do I burn it now?"
It comes just days after City tore United to shreds in the Premier League in a 6-3 win at the Etihad on Sunday. It put a dent in Erik ten Hag's recent upturn in form for the club, where they had claimed the scalps of the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool.
De Bruyne laid on two assists in that result, setting up Erling Haaland twice - including his second strike which was put on a plate by the 31-year-old in incredible fashion. The Norwegian went on to get another to score his third hat-trick of the season.

Meanwhile, the other hat-trick hero against United, Phil Foden, has admitted that it was a dream come true. He said: "It's a team game and everyone has their day but I'm so happy, it is a dream come true - playing in the derby and supporting the club as well.
"To be able to score three is special for me. It's been a long time coming. I have scored two goals a couple of times now but thankfully, I am happy to score a hat-trick now.
"I have been dreaming about scoring against Manchester United and things just fell for me in the right areas and I am really thankful that I put them away."
