Arsenal star Aaron Ramsdale reportedly mocked Tottenham fans during the north London derby on Saturday afternoon. It was a day to remember for the Gunners, who claimed victory courtesy of goals from Thomas Partey, Gabriel Jesus and Granit Xhaka. And the result means they’ve been able to keep their spot at the top of the Premier League table, having won seven of their first eight games.

Arsenal were too strong for Tottenham, with Mikel Arteta’s side a class above their opponents as they picked up all three points.

Partey opened the scoring in the 20th minute, with the Ghana international rifling a curling effort into the top corner and beyond the reach of Hugo Lloris.

Tottenham responded through Harry Kane, who converted a penalty following a foul by Gabriel.

However, it was Arsenal’s day as late goals from Jesus and Xhaka gave them all three points.

Towards the end of the fixture, former Crystal Palace star Glenn Murray spoke on BBC Radio 5 Live and claimed Ramsdale had been mocking Tottenham fans by waving at them.

"It's Arsenal's day without doubt," he said.

"The highlight of the last 10 minutes has been seeing Aaron Ramsdale turn round and wave to the almost empty Spurs away end.

"I love players showing their personality because it's happening less and less on the pitch."

With Tottenham down to 10 men after a red card for Emerson Royal, fans tried to get out of the Emirates as quickly as possible.

And that’s no surprise, with Arsenal superior in every department as they took another step in the right direction with Arteta at the helm.

Speaking after the game, meanwhile, Jesus admitted he was loving life at the Emirates and delighted at netting in a derby at the first time of asking.

"To be honest it’s the second time I scored in a derby," he said.

"The first was for Brazil against Argentina. I’m very happy, I want to score in every game and the way team played from the first minute showed how we wanted to play.

"We deserved to win, I don't know how many chances we created.

"I am feeling at home because of the guys, the staff, the club and it’s helped a lot. I’m really happy here and we are in a good way."

And Xhaka also hailed the result, insisting his team-mates did well amid the heat of the battle despite a lack of training.

"We didn't have a lot of weeks to prepare because of the international break, but we saw yesterday in training that we were ready," he said.

"From the first second I think we were the better team.

"After we conceded we were struggling a little bit, but in the second half we were much better and I am so happy to score and help the team to win.

"My first derby goal in England. I’m more than happy to help the team.

"The team is the most important thing."

Tottenham star Eric Dier, meanwhile, lamented his side’s slow start to the game and believes that cost his team on the day.

"They started better in both halves, and scored a good goal from outside the box," said the England international.

"After that we were much better, got to 1-1 but lacked quality in the final pass.

"Same again in the second half. We didn't start well, conceded a poor goal after the sending off and it was difficult.

"It was 2-1 at that point and they scored straight away again. We couldn't really organise ourselves before they got the third.

"This is the beginning of the season so it is not too much of a big blow. It's disappointing, of course, but we lost here at the start of last season as well and built again and had a good finish.

"I am sure we can do the same and go again this year."
