Leicester's towering brute of a centre-back Jannik Vestergaard is flummoxed as to why he's been frozen out of the Leicester City team.

The Foxes have had a far from prolific start to the season, with Brendan Rodgers' men sitting bottom of the Premier League after their latest defeat - a 6-2 thrashing by Spurs.

The side has had question marks over their set-piece strategy since Rodgers took over, with the Premier League side seemingly unable to defend corners. Some fans are puzzled why Vestergaard isn't in the heart of defence heading crosses away, especially after they conceded from yet another corner when Eric Dier looped the ball into the net for Tottenham's second goal this evening.

And it's not just fans that are bemused, the Danish defender, who arrived from Southampton last year, has only pulled on a Leicester jersey 10 times and has revealed that he has "no idea" why he's been dropped by the Welsh manager.

The centre-back told Danish outlet BT: “I must honestly admit that I don’t know what has happened. I came back to the club after the summer holiday and after two international games for Denmark with wins over Austria and world champions France.

"I spoke to the club and got the clear impression that they were happy with me and that we will start from scratch in the new season and I would be given the same chance to play as everyone else. But when the league started, I was suddenly completely outside and have only started one cup match, where I played well and kept a clean sheet.

"Afterwards, I was on the outside again."

He is adamant that he is still happy at the club and believes he can make a difference when called upon. He also confirmed that he is fit enough to take to the pitch for the side.

He continued: "I work hard in training, where things are actually going really well for me and I still believe that I will get the chance. I am completely ready if the manager chooses to use me and my qualities.

"I am in good physical shape and believe that I could help the club get back on track and out of the difficult situation in terms of results."
