Cristiano Ronaldo crudely batted off one unlucky fan who was desperate for a selfie with the Manchester United man at half-time.
It came during United's 2-0 win over Sheriff Tiraspol in Chisinau, the Moldovan capital, as Erik ten Hag got his side off the mark in the Europa League. And it was Ronaldo that helped the Red Devils get all three points with his first goal of the season.
Jadon Sancho had put United ahead first with a fine effort of his own before Diogo Dalot was fouled inside the box. Ronaldo stepped up to take the penalty, slotting it home with ease five minutes before half-time.
After netting his first of the campaign, one might imagine that the 37-year-old would be in high spirits. However, he was anything but as he raced off down the tunnel as the referee blew his whistle.
One Moldovan fan saw her chance and tried to get a selfie with the five-time Ballon d'Or winner but was left spurned as the forward batted her away, not even looking as he did so and jogging off the pitch into the dressing rooms.
It has not been a happy season for Ronaldo despite getting on the scoresheet on Thursday night. The Portugal international has largely been left on the bench under the new regime.
After trying to leave Old Trafford all summer, the former Real Madrid star finds himself in an unusual position of being stuck in limbo as the final year of his contract dwindles down with no suitors looking for his signature.
United will play Manchester City next but Ten Hag will have plenty of time to prepare with the international break taking over next week.
