Juventus chief Maurizio Arrivabene has denied talking up the sacking of coach Max Allegri.
A video shared on social media shows Arrivabene mixing with Bianconeri supporters after lunch with Benfica directors in Turin.
At some point, Arrivabene says: "Then you pay for who comes next?"
The question can't be heard in the video, but it's suggested he was asked about removing Allegri.
"Let's make things clear. When I left the restaurant, a fan shouted that we should sack Allegri if we don't win and I replied with the first joke that crossed my mind. It's ridiculous to create a case for something like that," Arrivabene said ahead of Wednesday night's Champions League clash with Benfica.
"That's how football should be taken sometimes and have a laugh."
