Chelsea are close to sign Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to The Athletic. The latest offer from the Blues is said to be €7.5 million plus a move for Marcos Alonso to Barcelona.
Before the transfer window closes tonight, the two sides will still hold final negotiations to finalize the details of the transfer.
Aubameyang is still at Barcelona and Chelsea are hoping to sign him on a 2+1 deal. The contract will be renewed at the end of two years depending on his performance in the second season.
A new consideration for Chelsea is that Aubameyang was robbed at his home in Barcelona a few days ago and suffered a broken jaw in the struggle with the robbers, which will keep him out of action for a few weeks. The length of his absence will depend on whether he undergoes surgery, which will result in a quicker recovery than natural healing time.
