The older brother of Paul Pogba has released a new statement amid claims from the Juventus midfielder's camp around a family member.
Mathias Pogba released a video statement over the weekend of threats to release all on his younger brother and his management team.
It's since been reported by Franceinfo that Paul Pogba was allegedly threatened and intimidated multiple times by a gang, including his older brother.
Paul Pogba has informed Italian authorities that he was 'trapped' by some childhood friends and other hooded people with assault rifles. They demanded €13m from him and allegedly stole €300,000 and a credit card.
Former Manchester United midfielder Pogba allegedly claimed the incident happened during the March break when he returned to his hometown Lagny-sur-Marne, in France.
However, Mathias has made a new statement, declaring: “I hope you won't be fooled by an attempt to manipulate the media and the authorities.
“When you are famous the world is with you, the authorities listen more attentively. But that doesn't put you above the law, the police aren't your minions!
“Ah, and not long ago, my brother claimed to the Italian police that he did not know our 1st cousin, with whom we grew up, paying him a simple visit and who did nothing to Paul, the family can testify to this. This is about a harassment complaint against an innocent cousin…
“Some will ask why we are talking about a story about my cousin. Someone who is not honest with policemen without a reason, is he going to be honest with you, even if it is through lawyers? Otherwise, for the rest, patience, it is coming…"
