Ronaldo did not appear to be having the best time in north London

Brazilian legend Ronaldo was spotted at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the north Londoners Premier League clash against Wolves.

The iconic former Real Madrid and Inter Milan ace entrenched himself as one of the greatest players of his generation, despite never playing in the Premier League. But considering Tottenham were drawing 0-0 against Wolves at half time in a somewhat monotonous contest, Ronaldo may have been counting his blessings that he didn’t make the move.

At the time, Jose Sa’s miraculous save from Harry Kane’s looping header was the only meaningful chance of the contest at the time. And the footballing world quickly amused themselves after seeing Ronaldo’s surprise appearance at the game.

“He looks thrilled,” one fan remarked on social media when Ronaldo flashed up on the screen. “Wolves are signing him too,” another fan asked, remarking on Wolves’ fascination with signing Brazilian and Portuguese players.

“Can’t wait til the Ronaldo to Manchester United rumours to start,” another added in similar fashion. “Should have made the trip down to Bournemouth to witness true Joga Bonito,” an optimistic Cherry said.

“He looks as bored as all Tottenham fans feel,” one Tottenham fan commented, making his thoughts on the contest very clear. Spurs’ boss Antonio Conte could probably do with some of the Brazilian’s magic of the past.

New signing Ivan Perisic was given his first Premier League but fellow new arrivals, Richarlison, Clement Lenglet and Yves Bissouma all had to content themselves with a place on the bench.

The call to start Perisic paid off, though, as his flick on from a corner provided the assist for Harry Kane to open the scoring in the second half.

And that goal was ultimately enough for Spurs to take all three points as Conte's team moved top of the table, above neighbours Arsenal.
