Manchester United’s transfer plans for next week revealed

An insight into Manchester United’s transfer plans moving forward has been provided on Sunday.

Manchester United have so far signed three senior players this summer in the form of Christian Eriksen, Lisandro Martinez and Tyrell Malacia.

However, it is fair to say, especially after the Brentford game, that Manchester United desperately need a few more new faces through the door this month.

And now, Fabrizio Romano has provided an insight into who United may target.

Romano confirmed that Manchester United’s priority is to complete the deal for Adrien Rabiot and, next week, United will look at strikers and also maybe a winger:

“It was another terrible day at the office for Manchester United yesterday as they were thrashed 4-0 by Brentford. Unsurprisingly, Erik ten Hag addressed the need for signings after the game,” Romano wrote.

“The club’s priority is to complete the deal for Adrien Rabiot - there will be new contacts in the next 24-48h with his mother Veronique to complete the agreement. A fee has already been agreed with Juventus, and Ten Hag recently had positive contacts directly with the player as well.

“United will then decide on the situation of the new striker, it is also necessary to understand how the winger issue will evolve with Cody Gakpo discussed internally alongside top, complicated priority target Antony. Manchester United hope to complete at least one or two new signings next week.”

This suggests that Rabiot may be United’s only other midfield signing this summer, once again leaving the club without a proper defensive midfielder for at least half a season.
