Martin Odegaard rejoined Arsenal on a permanent basis at the start of the 2021-22 Premier League campaign and his wages appeared to stun defensive ace Kieran Tierney
Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney said "f***ing hell" when he learned about Martin Odegaard's £4million per season wages.
The Norwegian wonderkid joined the Gunners on a permanent basis last season in a £30m deal from Real Madrid. His big money move was inspired by his impressive loan spell in the season previously, which saw him establish himself as one of Mikel Arteta's most important players.
And his manager's faith has been further cemented with the awarding of the Gunners’ captaincy, vacated by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang last season. However, Odegaard's impressive pay packet still shocked Tierney and the Scottish international wasted no time in letting him know when they reunited at the start of the previous Premier League campaign.

"Good to be back bro," Tierney said to the Norway skipper in the first episode of All or Nothing: Arsenal. "I heard what wages you were getting and I thought f***ing hell."
Fortunately for Odegaard, he has evidently earned his wages at the Emirates Stadium. The 23-year-old contributed seven Premier League goals and four assists in 36 appearances for Arteta’s side, earning him the honour of becoming the club’s next permanent captain.

Martin Odegaard enjoyed himself over the summer break
"I'm very proud to be named captain of this amazing football club," Odegaard said after Arsenal’s recent 6-0 drubbing of Sevilla in the Emirates Cup. "Thank you very much for the support today at the stadium.
"We are looking forward to starting the league now, so let's go. Of course I was happy, proud and grateful for the trust and for him wanting me to be the captain.
Martin Odegaard and Kieran Tierney have been key players for Arsenal in recent times
"That's a big achievement for me and it's nice to be part of such a good team, so I'm going to enjoy that. Of course it's important that we all take leadership.
"It's not just about me or a few people but I think everyone needs to take the leadership and do what’s best for the team, so everyone has to do that."
