Sir Alex Ferguson has offered a brutal tongue-in-cheek verdict over what Arsenal fans can expect from the 2022/23 Premier League season in a chat with Frankie Dettori.
The iconic former Manchester United boss was in high spirits after bumping into the legendary jockey at Goodwood on Saturday (July 30) where they posed for photos.
Dettori is a huge fan of the Gunners which has been a source of friendly banter between the pair in the past - and it was brought up on their latest meeting.
Ferguson said: "A quote familiar to Frank, Arsenal are getting relegated this year. He told me that himself!"
Of course, the veteran Scot was joking with his old pal rather than offering up a serious prediction, with Arteta's men looking in fine form during pre-season after finishing fifth last season.
Back in May, Dettori spoke about two "shocking" arsenal results in defeats against Tottenham and Newcastle that all but cost them Champions League qualification.

He said at the time: "Again we underachieved. We had a little bit of a run three parts into the season but everything fell apart again the last few games.
"Look, a club like Arsenal, we have got to be in Champions League. We can't year after year not being in Champions League.
"As an Arsenal supporter of course I'm disappointed. I think the last two games were shocking and now we are waiting on a miracle on the last game of the season."
Ferguson enjoyed several title battles with the Gunners during his glory years at Old Trafford, coming out on top more times that not.
Ferguson faced Arsene Wenger 49 times over the 17 years that they were both Premier League winning 23 while losing 16 and drawing 10.
