THE mother of Juventus star and Liverpool target Adrien Rabiot is reportedly trying to secure him a return to Paris Saint-Germain.

The 27-year-old departed the French champions in 2019 on a free transfer and he has subsequently spent three seasons with Juve.

But he did not travel to the US with the rest of the squad for their pre-season tour - with many suggesting it is due to transfer uncertainty despite the club stating it was for "personal reasons".

And rumours began to swirl even more when he was included in Juventus' U23 pre-season camp.

Now Mondo Bianconero is reporting that his mother and agent Veronique is trying to engineer him a move back to PSG.

Lyon have declared their interest in signing the versatile midfielder.

However, Rabiot is not thought to be keen on a move there and it is claimed he is holding out for a more "prestigious" club.

Veronique is keen to secure him a return to PSG where he spent seven seasons in the first team, making 227 appearances and scoring 24 goals.

He has also been linked with a move to Liverpool.

It was reported earlier this month that Rabiot was set to be offered to Jurgen Klopp in a swap deal for either Roberto Firmino or Naby Keita.

However, it is still not out of the question that he could end up staying at Juventus.

Speaking recently about his future and the upcoming World Cup, Rabiot said: "I have not talked about it with the club. I try to stay focused on the national team and let my agent do it.

"I am under contract with Juve and nothing indicates to me that I will leave.

"As for the World Cup , it would have nothing to do with my decision. It wouldn't affect my choice."
